Hello All,
Im looking for a Huge Lift for my Taco, I need enough lift to cover 40 Inch tires nicely, with some space, and some flex room, I know there are a few places around that do lifts, like whiplash, but I cant seem to get an cooperation with them at all...This truck is simply show and go, with maybe some offroading in the snow only, Im gonna keep the stock V6, 5 speed, stock transfer case, but im gonna add 5:29:1 gears front and rear...if anyone has any information, please, please, email, I have been searching high and low for info, thanks alot
PNDRF15S@aol.com
Thanks again in advance...
Chris

Have you considered swapping in a solid axle. Lots of guys have done Taco's now and it would mean just selecting the proper leaf spring to get the lift you want. Use a 44 with CTM's and you may have a chance of not breaking anything offroad. OR if you have the money to throw at it put in a 60 and be done with it.
As for IFS I believe trail master makes a 6"lift for your truck. That and a 3"bodylift with some fender trimming may fit the 40's. Can't see it holding up to any abuse.

Go to www.extremegearoffroad.com/They do a solid axle swap on a tacoma and it looks real nice. If you want to go huge on lift...do the solid axle swap. You will have way more options for height. Besides it will look a lot cleaner than a ton of drop down brackets and such. WIth the money you spend on some hopped up IFS lift with extended cv's, a-arms, and such you could have a cool Solid axle. Good luck...Chrome and go

LoL, I figure, Im going to godmudders to see if they will do the work, I cant seem to get a price quote from the extremeoffroadgear.com people, but im going for Dana 60 Front and rear, and that will still be cheaper than the regular lift for the IFS that I would have needed.
Thanks again guys

I am going to go with the All Pro parts SAS....I think for the money, it seems like the best deal and best quality work...Im seriously considering doing the work myself, to save me some money, and time, because with spending 3000.00 on the Dana 60 axles, I could use all I can save...If I can, here is the following setup...
1998 toyota tacoma
Solid Axle Swap Using parts from All Pro Suspension
I want front and rear Dana 60's, with toyota disc breaks
detriot lockers front and rear
probably some 7 Inch Lift springs, 3 inch body lift, and 4 inch shackles
44 Inch Super Swamper Boggers
Regear font and rear axles to 5:29:1
Stock V6, stock transmission, and stock transfer case
what do you think about that? This truck, after the money im investing, honostly probably wont see much offroad use, other than maybe some moderate trail riding...

1998 toyota tacoma
Solid Axle Swap Using parts from All Pro Suspension - If your gonna use Dana 60's, there isn't too much all-pro is gonna be able to sell ya besides the SAS kit for mounting the shackles and stuff.
I want front and rear Dana 60's, with toyota disc breaks- You probably won't wanna use toy brakes as you can get much larger discs for 60's and it would be easier using 60 brake setups.
detriot lockers front and rear - very nice
probably some 7 Inch Lift springs, 3 inch body lift, and 4 inch shackles - Holy freakin Crap thats gonna be high.
44 Inch Super Swamper Boggers - Your gonna need em
Regear font and rear axles to 5:29:1 - This is a gear ratio for toyota axles. The 60's use different ratios although you can get 5.38 gears i believe. Check out completeoffroad.com for some prices and parts.
Stock V6, stock transmission, and stock transfer case- Not a problem. If you end up hitting the mud I would swap in a gear drive transfer case. They are more durable than the chain drive's you probably have. marlincrawler.com can get you an adapter.
YES please post pics of this beast. And make sure you keep notes of all the stuff you needed to make it happen. Im in the middle of setting up a 44 front and ford 9" in rear all full width. Here is another link that has helped me out. shakerbuilt.com . This guy can help you with your crossover steering for the dana 60. Believe me your gonna want the crossover steering.
Good luck....don't worry about off road use...with all the gear you want to use...it will take a lot to kill it. ;D

Hey Man,
Thanks for the reply, the links that you gave me, other than the ones I already had, are gonna be a huge help. I dont know how long it will take to do the complete setup, hopefully not long, that is just alot of money to come out of nowhere if you know what I mean....Im working on it though...Anyways, thanks again for the posts, to all who posted..
Ill put up pics as soon as I get some together when the rig is finished.
Thanks again
Chris

Chris,
I would love to document this project here on the site. If you are interested, send in progress photos to me with descriptions. If you have the time, it would be cool if you could offer a sort of step-by-step account of the project.
Anyway, good luck!
