07 tacoma headers

Does anyone have headers on thier new taco? I have looked at jba and thorley headers, the offroad headers from thorley don't use the factory cat converters, they are long tubes not shorties like the jba set. Is there a big difference between long tube and shorties as far as power goes? The thorley headers have a chip so the check engine light doesn't come on from eliminating the cats. They are direct bolt on to the y-pipe. The JBA headers need to be welded to the cat. If i go with the thorley headers, will it hurt my trucks performance from not having my cats.?

My truck is an 07 double cab with the TRD package. I have TRD performance exhaust and a K&N cold air intake allready on the truck!
