Hey I have a 96 taco 2.7. I have a crack in the manifold, you can see it throuh a hole in the heat sheild. My Friends taco had one in same place. Any one no why or what caused this. Thanks

I am not sure but i have heard of a few 2.7's with the same problem. You might want to try and look up if there has been a recall on this. I know the 97 tj's had a recall for the same problem. redtoy92

I have a 97 Tacoma that cracked the manifold in three places. The price you pay for the stock manifold I could have bought a header.

Man i've got a 95 with the same motor and mine did the exact same thing too. Not only did it sound horrible but the fumes were killin me! Some fella told me it was just the way those manifolds were made so I ended up just getting a new manifold for about $100.00 or so which is not too bad because your never gonna fix all those cracks..

There wasa TSB on these.I'm don't remember if there was a time restriction to have the service done but you may want to call your local dealer and have them run your vin and see if it is covered.Mine cracked in three places as well but I went and got a Header from LCE instead of getting another factory one.
