Any one have any suggestions on cleaning the engine in my yota, i discovered it was probably a shore truck due to the light oxidation on stuff. I want to be able to clean this up before it turns to rust.

If you want to get it really clean you can take it to be steamed cleaned by a auto detailer. If you want to do it at home, here are some suggestions. Don't use high pressure water. It tends to get into places it shouldn't. Use a good degreaser to cut through the grease. You can use brake cleaner on the really hard stuff. I have a brush I use to get into hard spots. After rinsing everything off, I go over the rubber hoses and such with armor all.

Simple Green seems to work really well. Just make sure you cover your battery and alternator from the water. Just spray on the stuff, use a brush for those extra dirty spots, wait a few minutes to let the stuff soak in and hose off with your regular garden hose. The stuff is bio-degradeable so it doesn't harm the environment too. I've heard that Gunk engine cleaner works well too.

gunk works really well. It takes grease/dirt off like its nothing. Watch what you spray with it.
