I have a 96 Taco, 3.4L V6, 5 speed, 4x4. I've had a hesitation problem with my truck for quite a while. I installed a drop in K&N air filter and I was told that the oil used to re-charge the filter media can actually damage the Mass Flow Air Sensor, therefore causing it to relay incorrect information back to the computer. When I step hard on the accelorator the truck tends to hesitate at lower RPM's. Unfortunatlly, this sensor costs about $1000 cdn (I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada), new from the dealership. Has anyone had similar issues with thier toys? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Any recomendations on how to clean the sensor without damaging it. Would isopropal rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle work? What should the resistance across the sensor be at?

The K & N air filters are good, but if you live in a dusty area they are not good. The dusty roads clogs up the air filter quicker due to the oil.
