I know theres always talk about IFS being weak and solid axils the way to go, but this weekend my buddy's tacoma impressed me! He has a 2 1/1 inch lift on it and he jumped it about 65ft on a morticycle jump, we measured it, the truck slammed down, we all cyrnged, but it was fine! Toys can take a beating and keep on tickin!

I always thought IFS was the way to go for desert running and mound jumping....look at all the trucks that run the baja.....none of them have solid axels.

I jump my rig alot and with all that i've pulled off my IFS has performed even better than I had hoped for the only probs I have is the front factory shocks their blown and the rear leaf sag but hey how many people can say they jumped over a subaru outback ;D soon I would like to upgrade my IFS with long travel A-arms like the baja racers those guys hit some crazy jumps

i jumped a jeep wrangler i lifted ,a couple times it was cool , until the next day the driver side rear tire and axle passed me on the highway. that sucked pretty bad so i kinda stay away from jumping stuff, especially my own ;D

Solid axles are better for slow crawling, but IFS is the way to fly. The older torsion bar setup is actually stronger then the Taco's coilover and is still being built and used in countries such as Brazil. Brazil had a version of the FJ40 available up until the eary 00's as the road system thier in remote places is still very primitive.
