what a pain, after ordering pro comp rock crawler 15"steel wheels I found that they didnt fit over my front callipers. So I could have sent them back but instead ended up putting in spacers, cuz I didnt feel like having to flog my relatively new tires. Things went from bad to worse, once installed the set up was rediculous tires sticking way to far out ( bad for geometry and everything else) so I took them off and went back to stock....this story goes way further but I wont waste your time. Anyways Im looking at getting a set of allied rock a thons rock 8's. 8"x16" turns out the tires I now want(toyo open country m/t's) are 16's. my stock wheels are 6 bolt 5.5 space. The rock a thons( rt9168060) have a 3.75 backspace....does anyone know if these will work with my trucks callipers, and is this backspace somewhere near stock so I dont have to screw around with my fenders and or lifting or any other garbage.

What size spacers did you get?
I have 33x12.5 on 15x8 rims and I had the same issue.First I tried to grind the caliper to clear them. This worked just fine on one side but I got a little carried away and took too much off and ended up buying a new caliper for the other side.So I got a pair of 1" bolt on spacers from Marlin.Yes it moved the tire out just a little farther than I like but with the front just a little wider than the rear it tracks on and off-road a lot better as well as making the rig's COG more stable.I don't remember what the backspacing is.I'll see if I still have the info and post back.

I own a 1995.5 tacoma and i went to aftermarket wheels. At first I tried a set I had at the house and found that they to did not fit. After going to the local tire shop I found out that I need a wheel that had 4.5 inches of back spacing. This did work, clearing the calipers only a little bit but now I am happily running American racing Atlas ll 16x8 with 4.5" of back spacing and 0 mm off set. This only made my rims stick out about 1" which was'nt too bad.
