Has anyone indulged themselves with a new Tacoma yet??? What model and options did you get, and what did you pay for it?? I'm wondering what people are actually paying at the dealerships.

I just bought a 2005 Tacoma this evening.
Prerunner Double Cab 4-door (silver) V-6 5sp Auto TRD package #2 (sport package (PT)) Rubber removable bed matt
Out the door for $24,000 even
Pretty much a perfect truck at a great price.
Now if I just had someplace to park it......

I went in to order a 2005 d/c pre-runner last week with the following options: - Sport pkg #4 - Fork mount bike x2 - Doorsill protector - Emergency asst kit - Seat covers - Sport pedals - Roof rack - Hood protector - Tube Steps - VIP RS3200 Alarm - Cargo divider - Cargo net - 7yr/100K warranty - Rust proof - Paint protectant - Interior protectant - Wanted the speedway blue, as shown in pics on a d/c, not available for the d/c per Sales folks - Wanted the JBL, 6 CD, 7 speaker system with controls on the steering wheel, not available for the d/c, per toyota.com - Wanted the VSC+TRAC with HAC, only available if pre-ordered, 1K down, non-refundable and a 6-7 month wait. The total came to a bit over 30K. I've heard conflicting reports regarding the JBL system, sales says it's meant to be on all 2005 d/c as a standard in the March '05 and after. The www.toyota.com/vehicles/2005/tacoma/options.html says it's not available in the addtl opts. I know sales folks are sales folks, I personally know one of the CEO's of Servco who introduced me to the Gen. Sales Mgr, who introduced me to the most Sr. Sales person. I bought my 2003 d/c taco from him. I'm back for the 2005 now and he's given me a $1300.00 discount each time. I've always tossed that to the ext. war. I've been halfway selling my '03 with offers 2K above what I owe and have reduced my monthly taco fees by $25. Fianc'e asks what's the loan for and how long, keeping her focused on the new design features and reduction in monthly cost ;D '05 Toyota Tacoma (4-6 weeks), '03 Toyota Tacoma, '00 Ford Focus, '00 Kawi KLR650, '99 Harley Sportster 1300cc, '92 Cadi Deville, '90 Ply Van, '89 Mazda P/U, '88 Kawi GSX600, '88 Ford Ranger, '88 CJ5, '87 Suzuki Katana 1200cc, '87 Nissan P/U, '87 CJ5, '87 T-bird, '86 Honda VFR750, '81 Ford Bronco, '80 Ford Courier, '78 Honda Civic, '72 BMW Bavarian, '72 Ford F150, '68 Toyota Corona (bored 40 over, mild cam, holly web), '67 VW (duel 48's, 2180cc, 130 lift cam, 3&4th trans)

Hey to everyone. New to this Toyota forum. I bought my 05 Tacoma back in November of 04, was hard to find one but I finally did. Had to go out of state to find mine. Glad I did, got a great price for it. 26,300 out the door, even had a 04 Ford F150 double cab 4x4 I traded in on it. I bought the double cab, V-6, 4x4, TRD off-road package #1, silver streak color. I had after market Katzkin leather installed at dealer cost, two-tone gray and black. So anyway glad to be a part of the Toyota family, talk to yall later.

I've ordered a 2005 Access Cab Tacoma in Impulse Red with the TRD OG package with V6 Auto 4x4. That was last December and the dealer still has no idea when it will be in. He's hoping the end of April. One question I do have is I noticed from Erock's post that the front skid plate is discontinued? Isn't it a standard option on the TRD OG package? I'm expecting it to be on mine when it arrives. Anybody else have any ideas on that? Thanks and by the way this is a great site!

I WAS TOLD THE 1/4IN THICK ALU. SKID PLATES WERE CRACKING WHEN BOLTED ON. TO ME THIS SOUNDS LIKE BULLSHIT BUT ITS ALL I'VE HEARD. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON MY TRUCK WHEN I GOT IT TOO AND NOW I'M JUST WAITING FOR A CREDIT CHECK FROM THE DEALER. I ALSO HEAR THAT TACOMAS BUILT AFTER MARCH WILL HAVE A "NEWLEY DESIGNED SKID PLATE" ON THEM.

I just got a 05 black Double Cab 4x4 V6 Auto TRD Sport #2. MSRP was $29,315. I paid $27,000 plus Tax & Title. I put $7k down and pay $400mo. for 60mo. I love this truck. Haven't had any problems so far. Plus it will fit in the garage with my wife's car, which was one of the main reasons I didn't get the full size Tundra. I could have gotten a lot more rebates, incentives, and stuff on a GM or Dodge, but once I drove the 05 Tacoma I had to have one. Toyota is pretty stingy on the Tacoma prices right now. Getting the exact Tacoma you want can mean that you'll have to wait a while to get it, in some areas of the country (I only had to wait 4 days). It got Motor Trend truck of the year, and now they're flying off the lot as soon as they arrive, so don't expect the dealers to go much below $2k off of MSRP, right now.
I didn't get many extras with the truck because the dealer told me that he would get me a good deal on any accessories I wanted to order after I bought the truck. If you order your truck with accessories on the window sticker you will have to pay the full list price for those accessories, plus if you financed your truck you're paying intrest on the accessories as well, if you want to look at it that way.
After I got the truck, the salesman took me over to the parts department and told the parts guy to give me their employee discount, which was 10% over dealer cost. I got most of the accessories for about 35% to 55% off the list price. I saved: $150 on tube steps; $100 on the bed divider; $65 on the bed mat, $30 on the exhaust tip; $20 on extra bed tie downs, and some other small stuff too. So when it comes to getting some of the small accessories that can be added on later, talk to your salesman after the sale and you can save several hundred dollars.
I dealt with a pretty honest salesman. When we were working out the final deal on the truck, we got to the part where he's supposed to try to sell me a bunch of extra stuff like paint sealant, rust proof, etc. I was already kind of sceptical of this stuff. Then he told me that this is where the dealer makes a lot of their profit. The rust proof and paint sealant is pretty much a joke, according to the body shop guys who apply the stuff. Way overpriced for what you're getting. He said I'd be better off by just polishing and waxing the truck a couple times a year (which I do anyway). If it doesn't come from the factory with it, you don't really need it. This is just something that dealers started to add on to make some extra $. But it's your money, it's up to you.
This is a sweet truck. I get tons of compliments on the sharp metallic black paint job. I give this truck a 9.5 out of 10.

I bought a Black 2005 Taco 4x4 sr5 Doublecab, 6spd manual, bed liner with rail system and adjustable tie downs, cd player with 6speakers, all the other usuals like power pkg etc. for $24,200 out the door. My friend, who used to work for toyota up north, gave me some tips - anytime that a dealer makes 1-2% over invoice they make money. So thats what I did and thats what I got. At first they told me the sticker is the price so I walked away and they called me at home 2 days later and we made the deal. Be ready to walk out the door and go elsewhere and you will get what you want for what you want. Also, pb2themax was right in the hook up on parts after you buy, all you have to do is ask.....

Ok, i'm wondering, but why would you buy a '05 Taco without the V6 engine? Not only that but then a Pre-Runner package on top? Is it budget restrictions? The only reason why I ask is because why would you want to go 4 wheelin' with a 4 banger and no 4x4 (Pre-Runner Models)? Ok enough of my I purchased a 2005 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport package. Automatic, V6, 4x4. This truck has all the bells and whistles. I think the only thing i'm missing now are the heated leather seats. Maybe that will be in the '07 model? ;D Payed around $25K at Stevinson Toyota in Colorado. Toyota's Rock! Not to mention that my pops has a '91 with over 200K on it, and it's only been to the shop TWICE!
