Hi everyone,
I've had a really reliable truck in my 99 Tacoma TRD, but the last two weeks I've noticed a hesitation right after leaving my driveway. The weather has gotten colder up here, so I'm wondering if it is just a matter of letting it warm up a few seconds more or something more severe?
Throughout the day, no problems. After 1 minute of driving, no problems. The hesitation occurs the moment I take-off out of the driveway then, goes away. Similar to a two-stroke running rich. But no exhaust smoke or anything like that.
I've had it dealer serviced, new plugs, fuel filter, and the regular fluid changes all around. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks, Toli

I've got the same issue w/ my 98. I've got a 5 spd. though and notice it most when Im just starting out (cold start up) and running through 2nd gear. It just started when it started getting cold here. Thing is I dont remember it last year - but I have just forgotten. I was thinking it was my header, but not sure now. Rob

It might help if you let it warm up atleast til the idle kicks down your rig will last alot longer as well running your truck cold is not a good thing low oil pressure coolant flow ect ect
