I have a 99 TRD SR5 2.7 man, 3" Cornfed and 3" body, running 33x13.50 SS LTBs. When I am slowing down, by either down shifting or just letting off the gas and using the engine to slow the truck. I am getting this nasty metal on metal rubbing sound comiing from the front, it sounds like they are spinning when rubbing. I have looked all over at the obvious and I just finished replacing the dvr side drive axle seal and no change. the seal was leaking. Anybody? been doing it for a year.

When you installed the cornfed lift did you also install the front dif drop spacers? if not chances are that your cv's are going bad just a thought

I have removed and look at all the bearing in the CVs and they look and feel like new. The squeaking is pretty high pitched and sounds to be in the open.

Fixed it...it was a rear U-joint on the way south. I replaced it with a Brute Force joint that I picked up at Advance auto parts, did some looking on the net and was pretty happy with the reviews. it was $14.40 and is alot more beefy than the stock. The only thing that Im not really happy about is that it doesnt have a grease fitting. It is a sealed bearing, however the seals are huge. Here is the makers site www.neapco.com/index.php
