I just got a 1996 Tacoma 2wd P/U and would like to SHUT UP the door buzzer when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. I would like to keep the interior light working from the door switch and also the lights are on buzzer. Anybody know if a wire can be cut at the ignition switch to make the buzzer forget the key is in the switch?

I tried a search for (tacoma door buzzer disable) before I posted and had no luck. Do you know a different way to search.

I just did a search on google and found this. www.off-road.com/toyota/cheaptricks/doorbuzzer/ I dont know if this is what you are looking for but it might work. My truck has no buzzers so i dont have to worry about being annoyed but i have to remember to shut the lights off.

Thanks I have done something simular on my other toys, but the 96 tacoma uses the same buzzer for the door open and lights are on I think. On my 02 F-150 I disabled the contact on the ignition switch that the key makes when inserted.I am wandering if this can be done on the 96 tacoma instead of adding a headlight buzzer.
