hi I just got the new 2005 tacoma double cab trd. It comes with 17" tires 265/65/17 they only make about 5 tires for this size. They are an allseason I what to get some AT mud and snow. but if I go to a 265/60/17 or 265/70/17 My speedo will change. I dont what that. Since the truck is run by computers can I change the speedo bye reprograming it. some one help.

I wouldn't worry about the spedo being off by such a small change. I went from 265/70/16 to 267/75/16 and my spedo is off about 1 mph between 50 and 60 and roughly 2 mph off at 70. Or you could always get that tire size in a 16" rim and put a bit more meat on that truck and there are plenty of choices. I am not sure of the 05's but my 02 can't be changed unless you fool the ECU, which is too much trouble for such a small change.

SAME ISSUE HERE. GOODYEAR WRANGLER M/T ARE MADE IN 265/65 17. THE BEST OPTION WITHOUT CHANGING MUCH IS GOING 265/70 17. THIS WAY U GET 1/4-1/2 IN MORE HEIGHT/MEAT AND U DON'T INCREASE WIDTH WHICH WEARS TIRE CENTER. NO SPEDO PROBLEMS EITHER.
