I have a 98 taco with the 2.7L, and I am looking to get more power for when I haul dirt bikes. On my way to the trails I ride there are some large hills that I have to go up and the my 4 banger doesn't pull real well up the steep grades with the bikes and gear in the back. I'm also looking for more power for passing on the highway. I am concidering the Alpine Supercharger and I was wondering if anyone has installed one or the TRD supercharger on their 2.7L (I believe Alpine made the supercharger for TRD), and if they think the performance gains are worth the money. If anyone has any other suggestions I'd like to hear what you have to say

You will have to go with the alpine we (TRD) no longer offer a supercharger for the 2.7 we only sell them for the 3.4 v-6 and the tundra unfortunately because I have the 2.7 as well but you can occassionaly find them on e-bay other options 1. L.C.ENGINEERING exhaust header +high flow cat/w/flowmaster muffler 2.L.C.E. stage 2 cam for low and mid range 3.modify the airbox to gain a little bit in the higher range check around this board use the search engine you'll find what your looking for if not ask and someone will help ya out

I would change the exhaust but PA is trying to pass a law banning performance exhaust, they want us to use stock exhaust. Thanks for your help

I live in PA as well and I have a custom exhaust would not worry about it it's not going to pass and if you already have they can't do anything about it

Was there a noticable differance in power with your custom exhaust? As I said in my original post I'm looking for power for hauling, and acceleration, am I going to accieve my goals with custom exhaust? I appreciate all of your help, this is a learning experience for me!

Yes it is noticable it won't accieve your goal by itself but will def help

I think I'll look into exhaust, there are always more mods I can do in the future
