Hey I am new here but I need help. I have a 2005 Tacoma Prerunner with a 3 inch lift and 33's. I need 4.56 gears real bad but no one can help me. Toyota said the ring and pinion are different. The gear manufacturors say that they should be the same. But they wont garentee it. I can't have it taken apart and not have the right ones. Can some one help?

I mostly use it to drive to work but I also pit and chase for a class 1 car in the Best In The Desert offroad race series. The 3 inch revtek lift is only temporary until I get a longtravel kit to install.

Try Randy's Ring and Pinion. There is a link around here somewhere. They have been a big help to lots of others here on this board. Very knowledgable.
Also, with regard to your PreRunner, with a locker in it, you can do almost as much as an open 4x4. If you don't need the 4x4 (if it's mostly for rally), the PreRunner is a good choice.

Thankyou very much for replying to my subject. I always use Randy's ring and pinion for my gearing. I have been building lifted offroad capable trucks for along time. I am just stumped because randy's said they have gears instock to fit no problem they are the same as last year. But I call toyotas main tech line they researched it for 3 hours called back and said that it was different and would not fit. I don't want to take the third meber apart and go to put in the new gears and find out they don't fit.
