i drive a '99 trd taco. with the shift on the fly 4wd... if i'm in 2 wheel drive. the hubs are unlocked right? so with an aussie locker. it will have no effect at all in 2wd right? then when i shift to 4wd it'll lock up correct? i'm considering purchasing one for my truck. anyone have one or used one? i just want someone to either say "hell yeah, go for it!" or "hell no nigger, don't you dare!" thanks guys

Your assumtion is correct IF you are installing the locker in the FRONT differential. If you install the locker in the rear diff, then you will be locked. It will affect your driving, but only slightly. Mostly, you will need to take it easy around turns but for the most part, you should notice no difference. Mileage should not change, and tire wear will be minimal.
Hell yeah, go for it!

Oh wait, I just noticed you have the TRD... my bad. So you already have a selectable rear locker.
So yes, you will not notice any difference when in 2wd. In 4wd, you will notice a little difficulty steering, the truck will have a tendancy to self-center the wheel.
Either way, hell yeah, go for it!

i just want someone to either say "hell yeah, go for it!" or "hell no black person, don't you dare!" thanks guys ;D I just picked myself up off the floor from this one! I've seen alot of warning stickers & haven't seen one yet that says "not applicable to brothers". Lock it, wheel it. You'll go more places w/the locker. Later...
