Ok, so i know that the V6 has more power than the 4, but i was wondering what the gas mileage difference is between the 2. I want a 6 for the power but i am leaning toward the 4 for the economy. I know the 6 will have more power for offroading and towing but how well does te 4 do?
Are the V6's as reliable as the 4?
Thanks

Stick with the 4cyl.,I have both.My 6cyl gets about 10 per gal. and my 4 cyl gets 18.It's much more durable.A 22re is like a roach,It'll be here when we're gone.

The taco 4cyl and v6 are a little different than their predecesors. The 4cyl is a 2.4L and is stronger than the 22re 4cyl. They are both good motors and are going to get you better gas mileage than the v6 hands down. As far as towing it really depends on what your towing and for how long, hills, etc... The taco v6 is a 3.4L. It looks about the same as the 3.0L v6 on older models but offers more horsepower and torque. I like the 3.4L over the 3.0L engine any day. It could handle some towing duty but then again it depends on what where and how your towing.
If gas mileage is the main concern, get the 4cyl. If your more concerned that your going to want the more pwoerful engine down the road, get the v6. They are both built very well and will last you a long time given you take care of them. It is a hard call.

the 2wd taco is a 2.4 the 4wd is a 2.7 and the v-6 is 3.4 and there are a few 4wd that have the 2.4 the few of these are in the earlier tacos
