I have a 98 Tacoma, 5 speed, 3.4l, rear locker, basicly all stock. I would really like to modify it. Ive been seeing and reading alot about Solid Axel Swap's and was wondering what other riders think about it. What type of axel would i use for the front, coudl i use a rear axel from the same year Tacoma and were would i buy a suspesion lift for both solid front and read axles. I really don't want to lift it too high, maybe 3-4 inchs. Can someone give me moitvational words to do it, plz do. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Another thing I been thinking about doing is putting a Snorkel on the Taco. Not just for deep running but i been reading they can be benefitical other than deep water. They sort-of have the RAM air effect. Any thoughts?

Well... consider the can-o-worms open...
The taco SAS uses the wagoneer axle which is a dana 44. you have to get the right dana 44 with the diff on the correct side for yours.
Here is the thing though...how much wheeling do you do? Do you just want to lift it? There are cheap lifts to do that. The solid axle swap is a big commitment time and/ or money to do. It is great for off roading but is a major modification on your truck.
It mostly depends on you and your wants for your truck...

u can also get a toyota diff on the driver side. and just get custom inner axles which you would wanna get with the 3.4 anyway
