trd is a package that you can get when you buy a taco. Trd basically comes with a electronically activated locker in the rear end and also comes with bilstien shocks. i think. Don't forget about the cool sticker on the bed. Anyways , i think that is all the diference. Maybe someone else knows more.

Thanks for the reply. Question about the e-locker.... Is it always active or can you turn it on and off with a switch? Not a big deal really, just wondering for knowledge.
Also, i know the TRD is more desirable, but is it really worth searching for when buying one, or is it less hassle to save some money on the non trd, and install manual lockers?
thanks!

It has a switch, i beleive you can only turn it on when you are in 4x4 low range. I think.
It's all about your future plans for the truck. I think it is a neat package to have on your truck if you are not going to heavily modify it.

The selectable e-locker in the TRD is highly desireable IMO. You can turn the locker on or off based on what you are doing and don't have to worry about changing your driving habits like you would with an auto locker.
Stock, you can only engage the locker in 4lo, but you can do the "gray wire mod" to get around that. I don't have it here on the site, but it's out there.

hey mike can you add the "grey wire mod " here I know it's on TTORA but I refuse to have anything to do with them for professional reasons and a customer of mine who does not use computers would like to do this any chance of getting that info?

Everything listed in the owner's manual says not to go faster than 5 miles an hour with the factory E-locker engaged. What is the reason for such a low speed? Will it ruin anything to go faster? I know it handles differently, but, once you get use to it it's not so bad. I just don't want to take the chance and go faster if there is a mechanical reason why it should be 5 miles or less. Thanks guys!

What does everyone have against TTORA anyway? don't get me wrong here cuz there are alot of knowledged wheelers there over all but my prob is with the PA chapter myself and a few friends invested alot of time, money, and fuel and they did not comply in any way shape or form and then had the balls to complain on top of it there is more to this but I can't give out those details for professional reasons not ot mention that they are mostly web wheelers and mall cruisers only small groups of actual wheelers hell go to a take over and you'll see what I mean you spend most of the day waiting for them taking poser shots
