STRANGE NOISE?

Hey All!!!

I just bought an 03 Tacoma TRD... I noticed a strange noise I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is. When you start the truck up and first put it into drive, and then initially hit the accelorator, the truck makes a noise that sounds hydrolic? it lasts for only a second and goes away. It only does it when you hit the gas the first time and doesnt do it anymore until the truck is started up again. It sounds like something is opening up inside the engine, ie: intake, etc. It doesnt do it in reverse and only does it when you first hit the gas. if you go into drive and let the truck roll without hitting the gas, it wont do it. Any ideas? I havent brought it into the dealer yet. thanks, DS

Most likely a bum fuel pump...where does it sound like its coming from? im not sure about the 03's, buton my 94 when the fuel pump went out it made a buzzing, hydrolic-like noise from the rear. (mybe the fuel pump in an 03 is in the front) otherwise, i would say a vaccuum problem or something along those lines

;D DONOT!!! quote me on this but it could be an EVAP purge or similar. My suggestion is to take it to the dealer & see what they have to say. More than anything, you want to document the problem while under warranty. In other words, PROTECT YOUR ASS!! Use the warranty to the max. while you have it. YOU paid for it! Later...
