I have a few links on some lift kits that enables you to put 32x11.50x16 '''' www.wheelersoffroad.com/tacodstrlift.htmwww.jackit.com/toyota/tacoma_pickup.htm#05I think in order to put some rear good phat tires you have to put some backspacing on whatever wheels your going to use.. well keep us posted..

I was going to go with the revtek lift. Seen a lot of guys with 285s, but they had to remove their flaps.
The revtek is only a 2.5 inch lift. So you may be able to keep your flaps.
There are quite a few on cardomain.com

I spoke with a friend at toyota and he told me you can put 265s on without a kit, considering you can choose 265s as an option on the '05. With a 3" lift you can clear 275s and maybe 285s as well (thats what I am trying to do now). Try calling Rocky Mountain and ask them, thats who I am ordering my lift kit through.....http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/toyota4_96+.htm
Good luck...

I have the 05 Tacoma TRD Sport (17" Wheels). I took my rig into 4wheelparts and they were able to put on 285/70R17s (BFG Mud Terrains). Looks agressive and pretty cool now.

My truck is a 2006 Taco Dbl Cab TRD 4x4 and it came stock with 265/65/R17 Bridgestone Deuler H/T's. It doesn't rub at full steering lock nor when I fly around on the backroads etc.

Let me clarify one thing on my rig, it DOES rub on hard turns and hard bumps and I HAD to remove the front mud flaps. I also went with the RevTek spacer kit (I believe it to be 3" not 2.5" as someone mentioned before.) Pics will be coming when I decide to get off my arse and post some.
