hi I have a 2005 taco double cab trd. with out the tow package. I what to put an oil cooler on but the Toyota one is $1000.00 plus the install. This cooler is put on the top of the oil filter and the lines run off that. can I just put on one that is like the trans cooler that you put in front of your rad. please help.

I remember the old Datsun’s had some type of device that you just described, call a Porsche shop there is a setup where you just sandwich it between the Oil filter and the oil filter housing and you just route the cooler to an open space. The problem is the oil filter housing on the 05 has a shield that will get in the way.. You can't use a trans cooler type of kit because the pressure is to high for rubber hose and hose clamp connections.
