I was just out looking at the new Tacomas and love them especially with a towing package. Barring what they say as 6500 lbs able to tow, does anyone fell this might be a bit high? I am looking for a truck to tow my 4,200 lb trailer and this quad cab is the only one in the Toyota line thats not too long for my garage. Anyone have enough info on the towing capabilities of the new Tacoma?---thx for any help

I have a 2005 Double Cab 4x4 and i tow 5600lbs (trailer + jeep) and it pulls fine at 70 and hardly ever down shifts... but yes, you will most certainly need trailer brakes...

If you are hauling..... Bite the bullet and go for the Tundra.(V8) Sorry, but trucks can be kept outside.
My questions to you are this.... How often do you haul? What do you haul? Where do you haul and how far?
If its a small heavy load only going 50-100 miles...anything can do it. If its a bulky cumbersome load and UP HILLS...maybe not.
The more you tell us the more we can help.
