Now I just filled er up and thought I would try the 91 stuff. After I used all the 87 stuff up in the lines my truck ran so much better. I know, Iknow, they say there no difference between the two if your vehicle requires on 87 octane. But that's with no modifications. As you look at my mods below I wonder if these would require a higher octane. Quie frankly my truck is a dog in the low to mid range. I only giddy ups and goes at higher RPMS. With the higher octane My truch did not feel sluggish in the low rpms. It ran great. so what do you think. Is there any science behind this?

in my option higher octane in a modified engine can make a difference. there are alot of people out there that say different. when i run 91-93 octane in my twd i can feel the difference in the performance. plus i get a little better mpg and the truck does not seem to knock and ping as with 87 octane. with the cost of gas these day's my truck only 91-93 octane every few fill UPS! just my $.02! later!

Regular use I get the 87 octane when running trails I run the higher stuff. I believe it does make a dif with a moded engine. The idle is smoother and there's def a performance difference.

Keep in mind, even at $.20/gal extra its the cheapest performance upgrade you'll ever get. $4.00 extra for 20gal??? Yeah, its worth it.
The only issue I've ever had with "high test" is in older vehicles, they are harder to start with it when cold.
For all Y'all out there who have no idea about fuel.... The higher the octane the more "energy" per gallon and it is slower burning fuel. That's why high octane is used in higher compression motors(performance)

higher octane also burns at a lower temperature. thats why high octane fuel is used in a high compresson motor. the high compresson helps it burn better. in a lower compression motor like a stock toyota motor you done always burn all the fuel so really you are wasting your money.
