Hello everyone. Im looking into getting my self a bone stock a 96' Taco with with the 4 cylinder (im not sure of toyotas name for this motor) and just over 140,000 miles. The truck seems to be in great shape. Everything is in working order. The only issues that im worried about it that the clutch and timing chain are orignal, im not worried about the clutch letting loose on me because I can fix that, but should I worry about a timing chain with this many miles? Are there any other issues with this year that I should worry about?
I used to own a 89' pickup with the 22re, i put an aussie-locker in it and had a ton of fun. I regret getting rid of it and am looking forward to getting back in the Toyota world.
Im looking forward to some advice.
Cheers!

Congrats on getting back into Toys. The truck most likely has a 3rz 2.7 engine. Is the timing chain making any noise? if so replasce it and the water pump. If not making noise keep a few bucks around for when you will need it over 140k it wont be too long. As for the clutch check out Marlin Crawler he's got great clutches.
