I found a 2002 toyota tacoma 4x4 with the se5 package on it for 8500. the only problem i have is the towing package it has on it. it has a unit that controls a trailers brakes and I'm kinda worried about that. and on top of that its the 2.7l 4cyl and it doesn't seem to have a lot of power compaired to my 1994 with the 2.4
so just seeing what you guys have to say thanks phil

Well, just having gotten rid of my 94 with the 22re and upgrading to an 04 with the 2.7, I'd say there is def something wrong here.
NOTHING rated to be towed with the 02 and the 4cyl should have required the electric trailer brakes.
Besides that, my 22re was worn, but had no where near the power of the 2.7
$8500 if close or near book(inflated NADA retail) would be for the extended cab, not the reg cab.
Actual dealer trade-in assuming 65k for this truck is only $6500.
BUT, open market in "good" condition is fair at $8500. Just not for this truck in particular.
PS: Standard trans or Auto?? Stew

"Did i pay to much for mine"
Maybe, maybe not. When did you buy it?
The V6 and the TRD package add about $7k to the trucks price.
I bought my 04 4cyl Taco Auto trans Ext cab used w/20k this Jan for $18k w/Toyota Cert.
It was the only used Taco (Toy Cert) within 250 miles of here available.
Your truck off the shpwroom floor prob listed for $31k
