I just got a 2006 Tacoma with the sport package and was wondering if there is a way to make the hood scoop functional cause the guy at the dealer ship said it was non functional one so if any one out there now let me know

You would need to fab up a box(collector) to close out the scoop and then tube it into the air box. With some imagination and some decent fab skills it's very doable  Could possibly modify one of those K&N type filter kits that have the heat shield and go from there...............? |

I just bought an 06, TRD Off-road access cab, 6-speed manual. I was torn between the Sports package and the Off-road package, the only thing I really wanted from the Sports package was the hood scoop.
Is there anyway to order the hood scoop after market, or am I better off just visiting a body shop and see if they can order in a complete hood? With that said, I would definitly want to make it functional, and figure if I go through a body shop, that would be do-able.
