I'm currently looking to put an electric fan on my taco. The reason i'm posting this thread is because i have read deadly's write up about electric fans and saw his install quirks but i was wondering if anyone can give me info as far as tacomas go what i should be expecting for the install and what problems i might have (of course knowing that all installs are slightly different). I know you have an electric fan hoodlum...what did you experience?

No quirks to speak of the only thing that took some time was finding the correct setting for the fan to kick on. I almost killed the battery a couple of times but got it set correctly and no issues. The only thing I want to change is I want to hard wire it so it runs all the time(to get rid of the thermostat) and I'm adding a cut off switch for water crossings.

Why do you want it to run all the time? Is it overheating? I found an adjustable thermostat from Summit racing for $24 US and Im going to put that in my truck. I know youve got a bigger motor and its done up a bit but it shouldnt be heating up a whole lot more than my 22R. I just go by my temp guage right now and I hardly ever have to turn it on.

So far the adjustable thermos have proved to be unreliable for my use. I play in mud and very deep water. 4Xfred has already blown out 3 of these and mine is acting up so I'm just gonna eliminate it all together.
