i have a 99' tacoma with the 2.7 L in it and am looking to buy a dual exhaust for it but can't find one. i have talkes to a buddy about fabing me up a custom but don't know what muffler will sound good. i've heard that a flowmaster 40 series makes the 4 cylinders sound crappy but haven't heard one. if you have any suggestions or have a nice setup on your truck that you can recomend that'd be great. PS. im just trying to get it to not sound like one of those crappy sooped up import rice burner cars.

I have a 40 series in my truck its not that loud, well I can't hear it over the swampers. But look into turbo styled mufflers they should be more quiet.

I have a 40 series on my 2000 tacoma V6 and it sounds great use to have a dynomax and that made it sound like a riceburnner

Super 40 is what I'm using on the same motor. And it sounds just fine,a little bit on the loud side but it doesn't sound like any ricer that's for sure.
