Has anybody installed a 2-3'' body lift on a 2nd gen 4Runner. I want to put 2'' on my '95 but A) Nobody makes a kit for models with AT, and B) I'm not really sure how tough it's gonna be to do this myself. I know Roger Brown makes kits for these (w/ AT bracket), but I'm not positive what pieces I really need: steering extension, bumper relocation brackets. . . Please advise

Tried that, all he did was copy and paste the order form off of his website, which I had seen already... Don't know if he was just especially busy or what. I was just looking for other people's experience doing this to see what they needed or what problems they incountered.

i have a 95 4runner and i had a leveling kit put on with 32" tires and 1" in the front and 2" in the back. the name of the kit is an olde man emu kit. the people that installed it said that i should not go any higher than what i have because it would cause more problems.

Tried that, all he did was copy and paste the order form off of his website, which I had seen already... Don't know if he was just especially busy or what. I was just looking for other people's experience doing this to see what they needed or what problems they incountered. I sent you the data pertinent to your vehicle with "Typical Kit" contents and pricing outlined (for example for a 2" body lift, the 2nd gen 4Runner typically uses kit H, which consists of the lift blocks, the longer bolts and brackets to relocate the front bumper and radiator). In addition at 2" and above, the 2nd gen A/T equipped vehicles will need my A/T bracket (kit AT). If you have any specific questions or need that clarified or the kit data re-sent, please let me know. Many folks do just fine with this information and others need a bit more help designing at kit to meet their exact needs. I am always glad to provide that assistance, but if I don't know you need it, I can't provide it. I also don't favor any one board of type of vehicle in my replies, but there are so many boards and so many threads and posts, I can't hope to monitor all of them for questions, so direct e-mail contact is the best way to get the information you need. I try to resond to e-mails ASAP and if you don't get a reply in a reasonable amount of time, please re-send the question, sometimes e-mails get lost.

I also don't favor any one board of type of vehicle in my replies ;D I can only comment on my experience w/Roger. And I have to say it's a helluvalot better than the local parts store! I asked ?'s, got answers, figured out what I needed & got parts. Everything was/is fine. A little misunderstanding DOES NOT deserve a slamming on the board. Later...

I know Roger Brown makes kits for these (w/ AT bracket), but I'm not positive what pieces I really need: steering extension, bumper relocation brackets. . . Please advise To answer your specific questions. #1 You need the lift blocks to raise the body off the frame #2 You need longer bolts to hold the body in place #3 If you have a stock front bumper and you wish to raise it then you need front bumper brackets. Note that the stock front bumper attaches to the frame and to the body (fenders) so you pretty much need to use brackets if you want to reinstall the front bumper. #4 If you have the linkage-style transfer case shifter, then you need my A/T bracket to lower the t-case shifter down to reach the linkage that wraps around and under the t-case. If you have a t-case shifter that goes right into the t-case, then you don't need the A/T bracket. #5 You might need the steering extension, but probably not. Usually there is enough steering shaft length left in stock form for a 2" lift. You can always order the extension, you can always install it, but you may not *need* it, if not it can be returned for credit. #6 You may want to add a radiator drop bracket set to lower the radiator to line back up with the engine-mounted fan. Some folks get the brackets, some don't, it is up to you. You can see the installation notes as well as links to other folks install writeups on the installation web page: www.4Crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Docs/BodyLift_HowTo.shtmlIt is hard to give 100% answers with body lifts, since there are always variations and everyone needs something different. If you want to be 100% covered, you can order everything I offer for that vehicle, use what you need and return the rest. If you have some fab skills, you can save money and do some of the items yourself. If you have any further questions, please e-mail me.
