96' runner- thinking of putting the "Performance" 1" lift springs on it. I just want to level it out but I do want it stiffer because I haul a lot of weight. Does anyone know if those springs are any stiffer than stock. Thanks

Don't know if the springs can handle more weight but another options to stiffen up the ride a bit is to change out the shocks. Shocks help dampen the ride and some stiffer ones can give a more firm feel. There are some adjustable shocks out there too that would allow you to control the settings and adjust the ride you like. Granted they aren't going to give you better towing capacity, it can help the ride. You will need to check on the specs of the springs you are purchasing to see if they have more load capacity, but I would think that they are about the same as your old ones.

I was hoping this forum would have more activity. Oh well.
I have a '99 4Runner with the same rear sag problem when loaded and/or towing. I'm considering installing adjustable 'air springs' (an air bladder inside the existing coil spring). Has anyone done this? I was told to avoid air adjust shocks on another group as the shock mounts may not be able to take the load. Any thoughts?

I thought Downey made some springs which are 20% stiffer then stock. I would look into that route first, or try a 2.5" coil spacer.

Looked at the site you gave on the other forum and saw the springs for the '90-'95 4Runners but nothing for my '99. I don't think the 2.25" coil spacer is the way I want to go as: 1) puts my rear higher 2.25" high when unloaded (most of the time), and 2) I'd still get a 2" sag in the rear when loaded since the stock coils drop 4" or more. Adjustable is where I want to go. I was just hoping to hear from anyone else who may have used air springs, but if I gotta break new ground I guess I can do that.
