do a bit of looking and reading first on every article you can find on this. Even between like body styles they are different problems. I know people that put a sbc in several s-10 and even though the body style is thesame there is enough minior changes that it is different from year to year. Look at several different kits to see what you may find. Myself i would go sbc but to each there own and what you have around. As long as it is a near stock motor the yota will live without to much problems. I just got my first yota about a month ago and with the mileage i'm gettin' on the 174k motor I feel i should of kept my k10. If i keep this very long i will look into a sbc. My gas mileage could not be to much worse. You may also go over to www.yotatech.com and see if they have any tech articles on this. Call and talk to people at downey and all pro off road and see what they can tell you but be sure to take your time and look at alot before you swap. Also places like advance adapters may be able to get you your adapters and motor mounts. You will need a bigger radiator and your front end will sink a little from the wieght of the bigger motor. v8's like a lower rpm than inlines 4's so if you have went to 33 or so with your stock 4.1 gears you will be ok unlike with the 4 cyl. If in a hurry stay with the toy motor. I'm not into fords to much but a v6 might fit easier. May not have much room and need to go to elec. fans. If this motor causes you to relocate whre the tranny sets any you may have to do drive shaft mods. elec. fans may cause you to need to run a relay ran off engine temp. This is just some thoughts as i have not done one yet. Post any that you have or find out for others to know.
