Wanted to see if there were fellow yota wheelers in the Bay area who are in to Crawlin. I take trips at least once a month to places like: Rubicon- During the weeks the best screw weekends, Shasta - Trinity wilderness, Kyburz, auburn area, Frank Raines OHV, etc...
'89 yota, lifted, locked, 5:29's, 35's, etc...TEXT

I'm in the bay area but i've only got a stock 87 4Runner with 31" all terrains. I've wheeled like crazy though through hollister. only thing that stopped me was the second time i tried to go through the bog and water go into my intake!

Let me know if ya want to go.........I also may do a short trip to Frank Raines OHV , near Patterson off of the 5 freeway.......you can also hit it off of mines rd in Livermore
Keep on Diggin'

Don't know if you've ever been there but there is a little chinese place in shasta city i stopped at once. pretty good but beware of the hot mustard. It made my nose bleed...no kidding. We then convinced a friend of mine to spoon some into his mouth...jacka$$ moment. My wife is from Redding so i get out that way every now and then.

No Snorkleman, I haven't been the the chinese place. I'll have to check it out, next time. I usually don't go to restaurants when in that area, because I've already have steaks , etc... for camping. Thanks for the heads up about the atomic mustard Whats the name of the place ? ....I know shasta city is small, and maybe there's only one chinese place there, but still ...to know the name would help. On another note: Just went to Knoxville OHV, yesterday.......which is about 25 miles north of Lake Berryessa. It's managed by the B.L.M ( bureau of land management ) , but should stand for " Boy love those Manzanita Bushes". It was in the 100's, and not wanting to run that power robbing AC, was pretty miserable except the wheelin......and I managed to lay some" Northern California Pin Striping" , thanks to the Manzanitas. It was ok,.......actually kinda weak, no place to really crawl......just lots of small rocks, bushes, hills. Looks like a good place to hunt Pigs however, as I saw tracks all over the place.......... Ended the day , with a "Nestea Plunge" in Lake Berryessa , to cool off

Just got back from wheelin' around Lake Shasta area, last weekend. It was hot, but the water of shasta was refreshing ! Their are alot of good "Diggin'" spots off of Gilman road, got lost for about 3 hours, 'cause all the trees look the same.......but definately would reccommend the shasta lake area for wheelin ' !!! Planning on goin' up near mendocino for labor day, meeting some fellow yotes up there for some "Diggin' 'round the giant sequoias........ ps: The pic to the right is before my lift, 35's, 5:29's, lockers, etc... Mike won't post my newest pic

I live right near shasta lake... i know a bunch of spots out here. I just moved two cities over but still know some spots, every week (in the summer) we go out thru our local creek for about a half hour and come up to our swimming spot. Fun for picnics and stuff.
