I live in Peoria and we usually go the back way to Crown King or just fool around in the river bottoms. I have a stock 85 4x4 and it goes anywhere i wanna take it.

you can pick up a guade for all the off roading in az the book is called guide to arizona backroads & 4-wheel drive trails. you can find it a some offroad shop or outdoor outlits. it tills you the name of the trail how to get there and the difficulty of the trails.

mohave county has the best wheeling, i think. you can go from 500 ft to about 7000 ft in an afternoon. the haulaupi mts area is real nice their is a nice campground with cabins to rent and 4x4ing all around, you should really check it out, by the way in april their will be an off road jamboree in kingman i think its just for quads but it should be worthwhlie checking out.

A nice area with some Class Two type trails is between Florence and Globe. There is an area called Martinez Canyon where the Silver Bell mine is and there is some coke ovens near by and also a tight trail through "Box Canyon". One part is called the "7 steps to hell", but I counted 11. Watch out if you have running boards: I tore them up on a 1989 Trooper. I just got my 1990 4Runner, with running boards, and haven't had a chance to go there yet.

that area near globe and florence is perfect for stock toyotas did it in a stock 94 pickup with street tires was challenging but not damageing got through without any damage lots of different trails to choose from depending on your vehicle and skill level a great place to play with a stock truck cant wait to get back out ther in my new to me 85 4runner as soon as i get the tranny fixed does get real hot in the summer best to go in spring winter or fall like we get seasons out here just not in the heart of summer bring lots of extra water if you try it in the summer

i live in globe and ,yes there are lots of trails in that area.anything from mild to wild .but i encourage everyone to explore the trails in the oak flats campground area, between globe and superior, because the mines are going to close most of it down soon.i think it is one of the most beautiful places in az.there is a popular trail there called hackberry creek trail.you can find info on it on the web......
