This is a good question, I live in Austin and wouldn't mind joining a club around here. I know off several 4x4 clubs, but I don't know of any Toyota specific clubs in the area.

Hey I live in Austin too and was wondering what clubs are around also. More specifically I'm in the Round Rock area but I figure I'm close enough.

Just moved to Buda, I was going to hit up Gilmore on the 12th since they are having a big Toyota Jamboree, but good sense and low $$ levels have driven me to put off a long drive in my Toy to go wheeling somewhere so far away. I ran accross a Jeep at a stop light tonight covered in mud, he said he was out by the Kohls off of 183 N. by some bus stop? Sounds kinda illegal but I didn't get a chance to check it out. If you head down Volente Road all the way to Volente beach, then take the right(the road ends), follow the road until you see a sign saying 8300(maybe 8100), there is a brand new house on the right, right after it is a for sale sign and a dirt road heading up. Take the road up and you will find a couple of decent ascents that can give you a challenge, the road continues back up into the hill with a great view of the lake but I haven't followed it all the way back so I don't know for sure where it goes. I am sure it is private property but it does have a For Sale sign up with a sign further into the woods with another For Sale sign. I figured I would just say I was checking out the property if anyone ever said anything to me. I have been up it four times with no issues.

I actually live right by the area. All it is a little stretch they cleared out doing the new toll road construction for utilities. It is not too challenging and I am not sure if it is illegal or not to be back there...i wasn't too impressed by it. If you want to sling mud all over your truck it's not a bad place to go but if you're looking for a challenge it's not the place to go.

Old thread yes I know, but I'd figure I'll give my input. I lived in Austin, now in College Station. We've got a place called BVORR out here that a nice park to wheel at. Heres some pics of it with my ZJ... It's a nice little place to wheel, the club I'm in TAMOR (Texas A&M Off Road) will usually go there as well as some other clubs. I know about Volente, wheeled there a lot. This past Christmas Eve I got my ZJ stuck along with an Early Bronco in the little lake there... As for the bus stop by Kohles, not worth it, illegal, lame, and it probably doesn't exist anymore due to all the construction in the area. If you guys want some clubs to join theres TX4WD Austin Chapter. I've heard its kinda crappy but there are also other chapters throughout Texas that you could join. www.tx4wd.org

There's alot of clubs down here, but recently posting all the stuff I don't want on my 4bangers on craigslist in austin I've met alot of people that want to start a toy club, I'm not picky on the makes or model crap but why don't we just all put a club together?
