does any one know if a 85 5-speed from a 2-wheel drive will work in a 86 4runner that has a auto in it now. it does have a 22re motor. is there any thing i need to know about the mounts and can i still use my drive line or the 2 wheel drive drive-line. and will my transfer case bolt up to the 5-speed. and will the auto tranny mount need to be moved or ?? please help

you will need a 4x4 trans. the 2wd trans will not work if you still want 4wheel drive!. as for auto to 5-speed mounts i'm not sure! sorry! later!

Ive been told motors with auto trannys have a different crankshaft than those with the manuals. Something to check out.

I just finished my swap with a random who knows what year w56 and pulled out my a340h from my 86 4runner both were 4x4's so I can't tell you that but I think the only thing I had to do was swap crossmembers, t-case mount, and install the clutch master cylinder other than that it all went together like it should have been there. As far as the different crankshafts? I dunno mine works fine. ;D
