Just giving a shout out to any Manitobans or fellow Canuks out there. I wheel most weekends, playing at the floodway if I have no time to travel out to the whiteshell where I enjoy it the most. Hoping to check out the Mary jane trail in Nopiming at the end of the month.

Hello from Saskatchewan. Im wondering if there are any Toyota 4x4 clubs in your area? I would like to check out Nopiming Park one of these days. Maybe making it a club run.

There is no Toyota club that I am aware of unfortunately. There are two off-roading clubs I know of that do actually trails, as opposed to the chevy and ford guys who apparently just like to look cool on the pavement.
Manitoba Trailmasters Selkirk MB Contact: Brent Steliga Phone: 204-482-1091 or in Arborg MB Contact: Tony Toms Phone: 204-378-5669
Suzuki Trailriders 411 King Edward St Winnipeg MB R3J 1L6 Contact: Michael Dithlevsen Phone: 204-832-0065
I'm not a member of either yet, but am interested in joining the Trailmasters. Most of these guys drive Suzuki's but I think there may be a jeep or two.
It's my understanding that the have an annual run sept. long weekend and my planis to go to that. I've been told that people make a run out there the last sunday of every month and was planning on going this month. Unfortunately I let a friend try his hand at the rock pile that is pictured in general4x4 section under weekend wheeling pics and he pretty much toasted my clutch. After he was done the pile my clutch was smoking like crazy and I noticed it was now engageing at the top of it's travel instead of close to the bottom like it was before I was stupid enough to let him drive my rig. I left with my clutch slipping, a clutch I just replaced last year. After it cooled it stopped slipping, but it still engages at the top, so I want to replace it before going out wheeling a couple hours from a parts store.
So no Mary Jane for me this month, well at least not that mary jane.
Are you a member of Toontoys? I've seen the listing in 4WD before and wondered what the club was about.

Toontoys was started by me, my brother and a couple of friends about 3 years ago. Iam the one that works on the site. We are not really an organized club like most. We are just a group that love Toyota's cars and 4x4's. We ussaully meet every Sunday for breakfast and then go wheeling. We have never charged a membership fees and we are not the type of club that have alot of rules. We are just out to have a good time. Could you find out if there will be a Sept. long weekend run? Iam sure some of our members would like to go.

Nice to see more than one guy from Manitoba out here. I hail from just east of Winnipeg. Used to have an '87 Toy, but I rolled that one. Got an '81 that I'm workin' on now, should be about 6 months before it is roadworthy. It's a shame that there are no 4x4 clubs in this area, time to start some maybe.

Cool, another person from Manitoba. I live in Winnipeg but often out by my moms past sedons corner.
What are your plans for your 81. I had a buddy in HS that had a 79 or 80 which is how I got into toyota's. Man that thing went anywhere. Love those first generations.

I know seddon's corner pretty well, also around the vivian area. Losts of pits out that way.
As for my truck, I would love to be ripping around come spring, but I doubt it. Probably gonna have 33's, lockers, and later a buick 3.8, but I still got a lot of work ahead of me. Can't wait though, finally gonna have a truck that I can really off-road!

Hey hey!
I live in Winnipeg, I've taken my truck out a few times this winter for a few romps through the Floodway. This summer I want to take it to the pits out by Springhill.
I bought it off a guy in La Salle just this winter. I have many plans for it. The kid who owned it previously made an attempt at some mods, but not much besides a 4" lift, 33s, and a (shitty) paint job.
This summer I hope to redo the interior, Line X the bed, and a few minor mods, as well as fine tuning some current problems.
Cheers.

You dont have to wait until summer to go to springhill. People are at the floodway every sunday, on a nice day there has to be close to fifty trucks there. I didnt go this weekend cause I went and pulled and tore down the autotrans on my old minivan. Since writing off my daily i have been driving the pig around and that just doesnt fly. I probably wont make it this sunday either as i will be rebuilding/assembling and installing the trans back into the caravan but there are so many people there you dont have to worry about getting stuck, someone will give you a pull. Usually its super busy anywhere from around 1 until early evening.

Thanks... that's good to know! I haven't been out there with a truck in a few years, so I'm sure I'll get into trouble! hahaha!
Finally got the rear brakes fixed, next week is the recall fix, and hopefully she'll be good to go after that!

Christened the truck two nights ago at the floodway. It's still kind of frozen, but does get pretty soft and muddy in parts. Did the stretch from Pembina to St. Annes.
First time in the mud, and I was impressed, was in 2WD the whole way, didn't get stuck once.
My BFGoodrich A/T sucked in the snow, but seem to be great in mud and grass!

Just got back from the lake. I was pretty stoked to find that the truck handled like a dream on the gravel roads. I only fishtailed once (compared to on average 3 times a trip in my Sunfire).
Lovin' my ride more and more!
