You've got a few completely bogus entries in the Mile Marker that are messing up the whole thing. I suggest you remove the obviously bad ones, and in the future do a little validation on what people enter I copied/pasted the Mile Marker HTML, ran a widget to filter out everything but miles and model years, pasted into a spreadsheet (only took a minute or three; I'm pretty good with numbers). Made a few dumb assumptions: * Bought it the year before the model year * Drove it all the time Asked myself three questions: * How far did they drive each year? * If they drove 24/7, how fast/far did they go each day? * If they drove 40 hrs a week, the whole time, how fast did they go? Here are a few red hot entries Entry # | miles | model yr | car yrs | mi/yr | mi/day (365/yr) | mi/hr, 24x7 | mi/hr 40/wk | | 658 | 88,745,324 | 1996 | 10 | 8,874,532 | 24,314 | 1,013 | 4437 | | 631 | 186,150,000 | 1985 | 21 | 8,864,286 | 24,286 | 1,012 | 4432 | | 496 | 19,854,648 | 1989 | 17 | 1,167,920 | 3,200 | 133 | 584 | | 389 | 8,500,000 | 1989 | 17 | 500,000 | 1,370 | 57 | 250 |
That's 303,249,972 bogus miles. Another 10-12 entries supposedly have gone more than 50k miles per year, every single year. Those are either suspicious or people whose stories I'd love to hear! Must drive for a living... especially at the higher end (over 100k miles a year -- that's a job, driving freeway speed with no stops ) At the other extreme, about a million miles are probably missing, from people who entered less than a thousand miles for older trucks -- probably just entered in "thousands" rather than the actual number! All the rest look reasonable: Lots of folks drive 2 to 40+ thousand miles a year.

MrPete, Outstanding homework. Honestly, I have never given it all THAT much attention. I'll go through and weed out a few of the obvious ones.
Thanks for the info!
