i have an 88 22re 4x4, and i have 33x12.50s with stock gears, my engine is a little sluggish, but hey its smaller and a whole lot older and weaker than yours, i can do 75 or 80 on the interstate, however that is in 4th gear, but it works for me, i drive to school on the interstate @ 80 mph every school day with no problems.

33's on an 84 22R, older still and less HP still, but not a problem.

I would'nt run a bias ply tire at those speeds, maybe it's just me.

Hey, my buddy has a 97 with a 2.7 and ran 32's, he switched to 33's and he cant outrun my 2.4 with 31's anymore, he used to before, my advice, gear out and youll pick up that lost power and push those bigger tires way better. Good luck!

I agree with colotoyboy, you'll be much happier if you re-gear when you make that large of a tire jump and you probably won't be able to hit those highway speeds as easily as you did unless you re-gear. Just my thoughts!
