Is it going to be a problem to mount 33X12.50 BFG ATs on 15X8 wheels. On the BFG website I think it said I need a 9-11 inch wheel, but I'm fairly sure I've heard of other people doing it. I can't really afford to get new wheels right now, so I guess I might have to go with a smaller tire (booooo!). Lemme know

It will work. Your tire will be balloned a bit, and wear in the middle faster then the outside, but it will be fine otherwise. I'm running 37x12.5x15 on 15x7 rims, no problems. Actually the extra height of the tires makes them round out less then if they were a 35 or 33 but you can see it's doable.

;D Sean's right. It'll work. I have 33x10.5 BFG MT's on15x7's & they bulge out pretty good. The less wide the rim, the more the tire "stands up". As far as wearing the centers out...you can forget factory tire pressures. Not gonna be close. The best way to check for proper press. is to get the tire hot(5-10 miles), check across the tread w/a temp. gun. If the centers hotter, lower the press. until it's even across. If the outer edges are hotter, lower the press. Another way is to find a nice new parking lot. Take white chalk, put a line across the tire & drive 100 yards. See where the chalk's worn off. Same theory as the temp. gun. The chalk will wear off where the press. is highest. Any ?'s, send me a PM. Later...

The problem with lowering pressure until you have a flat footprint is stability. I tried running my tires at 20psi on the street and it felt like I was driving on flats in turns. The highway was very scary because of all the sidewall flex. I know mine don't run flat but I'll sacrifice tire wear for on road driveabilty any time. This might not be such a problem with 33's as it is with 37's, I'm not sure.

;D Yeah, I didn't consider the height/stability issue. W/33's & no bars, it's not been an issue. 37's probably want to "lay over" alot more than 33's. Something for everyone to keep in mind as you go bigger. Later...
