im a student, and have almost no money (you know how it is), and have really no tires left on my rig, so i have a great dilemma ahead of me. i have around 400-450 to spend (to include tires AND mounting), and the choice is down to BFG all terrains(have them now, overall pretty impressed), procomp all terrains, super swamper TSL's, or procomp xt's or mt's (ONLY if there is a buy 3 get one free). i really need advice on this, and anything would be helpful. also, how much does mounting usually run? ill probably get them mounted at the 4wheelparts store down the street. thanks, Andrew

For an AT or MT type tire at at reasonable cost, try a private label (like Pep Boys sells for example) or the "off brands " (Mud King for example) carried by most tire chain stores. These tires are made by the name brand manufacturers such as BFG, Goodyear, etc. and are as good as their regular tires, but a lot cheaper.
Mounting and balancing is usually in the $7-10 range.
Also check out the warehouse clubs like Costco, Sams, BJs.

;D Excellent advice!!! I notice you're in CO. When I lived in Golden, Big O was always the best bet. IMHO, give them a try 1st & see what happens. Later...

Tire rack has numerous mud terrains and all terrains for about 80 a piece. For me shipping from them is not bad at all. Even after mounting it should be in your price range.
Walmart carries BFG's and have a pretty good mounting deal. $9.76 get them mounted and balanced w/ lifetime balancing and rotation. Not sure if it is more for 31's though.
Also pep boys matched internet pricing for my buddy. So you might be able to try that too.

I'll second the tirerack idea. They have great prices and I recieved the tires with no problems. I got the dunlop mud rover and they cost $88 dollars a piece and they seem to be a great tire. I haven't wheeled them hard because my clutch is going out but they had really good reviews and you can't beat the price. Installation and balancing cost me $10 dollars a piece at a local tire store. Just take your time finding a tire you want and don't get the first ones you see. Stephen
