I read in one of the threads on here that if you spray your wheel wells down with pam or something that the mud comes right off, well i was thinking that if you sprayed your tires down it would help them clean better. I think it would probably hurt your onroad traction but i dont really see why it would hurt if you were just in the mud. Any one else have anythoughts on this?

I have a feeling PAM would not stay on long enough in the mud and grit to make any effect. Never really considered getting mud off my truck that big a deal to try something like that. Also the thought of spraying PAM all over my truck doesnt sit well. I might get some strange looks... or, "Hey man thats one slick truck!" LOL I couldnt resist...

Spraying vegetable oil near brake parts seems kind of on the risky side for me.

I use a high quality spray on gun lube called break free CLP. I have had success with this for a while. I can usually find it at wally world around the gun cleaning supplies. I have also used wd-40 and it works almost as good. Like I said in the previous thread, spraying rims will result in brake dust accumulation, so its not something you want to do unless you know you are gonna be in the nasty stuff soon therafter. I always spray my bull bar down. For some reason it holds dirt like a shovel.... I have found lately that when I let sandy mud build up on my alloys that it actually polishes them. Every time I hit them with the pressure washer they are shinier than they were before the last trip. I wouldnt do this with a clear coated rim though.

on this topic, I didn't point out that I don't actually just spray lubricant on and leave it. I spray it on and wipe it off or spray on a rag and wipe it on. Having a dripping greasy truck wouldn't be very cool, especially if you used Pam. Save the pam for your pots and pans!
