how can you tell when a/t tires need to be replaced? I know about the "penny" test for regular tires. There's a noticable difference in the tread between the rear tires and the front ones. I think from putting 2 new ones on the rear...

You can use the same penny test for your AT tires as well. Also you might start rotating your tires more oftne if there is a noticable difference between front and back tires.

Also most brand tires have a tread gauge built into them. Look along the tire between the treads for raised spots that's about 3/16" high.

Also most brand tires have a tread gauge built into them. Look along the tire between the treads for raised spots that's about 3/16" high. It's called a 'wear bar', and when the tread is down to it, your overdue for new tires. And try rotating them once in a while.
