I am in the market for some 31x10.5s and I don't know which tire I should buy. I am stuck between bfg m/ts or trxus m/ts. I hear a lot of good things about the bfgs and i am told that the on road tire wear isn't that bad. I don't know all that much about the trxus but i know they perform great in the mud and they are cheaper. If you know anything about either tire or would recommend one tire over the other you input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know too much about the trxus, but I can vouch for the BFGs. I have ran the AT KOs in the past and the grip and tread life was very good. For a while I was looking at less expensive tires due to a cash flow jam, but I find myself back with the BFGs. I have not run the M/Ts but from what people have told me here and from research that I have done...you can't go wrong with the BFGs.

go with the bfg's. i have had them and had lots of friends that have them too, all with no complaints. they also last forever. you may save a little up front with the trxs but i guarantee you they will not live up to the bfg's.

boy this a die hard BFG board, there good tires i guess, for highway and trails , but the only real mud tire is a swamper and i dont mean the truxus or whatever i mean bogger ,sx ,tsl bias ply or the ssr or regular swamper radial and the ltb , the newer ones beside the iroks are all tight treat a/ts if you ask me . oh yeah the thornbird is a nice tire if you buy a tire for the looks, i have had bfg m/ts and they didnt last and didnt pull like a swamper in the mud and the a/ts and there a glorified street tire , i know you bfg guys dont agree , but this my opnion take it how you will.

The guy asked which of those two tires we would pick. Not whether swamper, boggers, iroks or the like were better. No he asked about the crappy trxus. If I asked who preferred apple juice or orange juice, would you say you guys all kind of suck because grape juice kicks ass?

I prefer the orange juice over the Trxus. But the BFG's are definitely better then grape juice.

LOL. ;D It's cool to have an opinion, and to be honest I don't disagree with your sentiments. My BFG's didn't last that well and weren't great in the mud. Then again my MTR's aren't very good in the mud either, but I only go through that stuff if it is between me and the rockpile.

Here is a good review on the TrXus. www.neow.org/trxus_review.html I think the trxus would do better in snowy or icy conditions due to the siping on the tread.

Maybe we need a regional divide here in the tire reviews ;D I have a huge respect for the bfg's consistency as an all around tire, but the m/t is pretty much considered an all-terrain here in the south. Apples and oranges.....

go for the trxus m/t's they are great off road and not too loud on the road, ma friend has 31x10.50's on his sammy and he loves them, and they hold up under dayly driving conditions, he drives it from new york to here in penn every 2 weeks.

Those trxus tires dont look really impressive bit I have not seen them perform yet. The MT's are a great all around tire about like the General Grabber. The trxus do look like they would hold up good on hte road though.
