Ok i live in southern ohio and within about a 30 mile radius from where i live you can play in heavy sand mud or even a little rock crawling out at the furnace. So my question is are sand tires good in mud, mud tires good in sand or is there a happy median. Is there a tire good for it all? If so What. Thanks bob

Tires used stritly for sand running are usually wide with not very aggressive tread. The point is to float on the sand without digging in. Good mud tires on the other hand maybe wide as well, but will have a very aggressive tread pattern which will clean itself as the tire spins. An at style tire may be a good comprimise. I found AT's to work ok in mud as long as it isn't deeper then the axles. Since an AT will clog with mud fast when you get deeper then the axles it tends to spin and go nowhere. AT's work fine in dry rocks and well in the sand when aired down low.
