I am reposting this because my subject line sounded like a statement not a question. So im in the process of buying new rims and i would like them to stick out from the frame a bit. I was wondering what backspacing to go with. also was wondering if going with a really low backspacing would put more stress on bearings and other parts. I have an 85 toy P/U. any input would be appreciated.

what size tire? any lift? marginal load effects w/33 or smaller tire. turning radius/body interference is the issue here.

my setup is almost identical to yours and I have 2.75" reverse backspaced wheels. I have about 1.5 inches between the lip of the wheel and my tierod end. How far do the tires stick outi 's hard to say, about 1-1.5 inches past the fenders. They still clear the fenders when artyiculating. I'd say get 2.50" as I would like to have gone a little wider. In the rear I have 4 inches between the wheel lip and the leaf springs. I have 15x8 so a differnt rim sizemight change the measurments. hope that helps
