I cant figure out a good way to explain this but here goes... I want to add an exhaust system that is going to have the muffler and pipe sticking out underthe right side of my tailgate. I guess comparible to a muffler on a quad. I think it would look good. In doing so I will have to remove my bumper which I think looks like crap anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of exhaust that will look good and also add some horses and not rust? I know that it may be hard to see but this is kind of the idea that im getting at. I muffler like that on the right side under the tail gate.

hey, I think that would not look that cool, if it came up trough your bed and you had a dual exaust it would. i wouldnt mess with it, because it wouldnt add hp. later...

I agree with MXjunk. I don't it would look all that hot. As far as he's idea with dual through the bed... I guest it would really depend on how you would accually do it and what kind of set-up you use.

I have a great idea for your exhaust idea, it comes from a design i saw before it involves running a custom header forward out in front of the truck and incorpoating it into the brushguard here is the pics as it is hard to describe.

Very interesting... but what happens when you bump a tree? Any front end contact could be tragic. Sure, you're not supposed to hit trees, but it happens. But, cool nontheless

But, cool nontheless That's what I was thinking. And is it true that tubing is stronger if it's capped off(sealed)? If so wouldn't that make that bumper that much weaker?

I have an `88 hi-lux surf SSR limited (4runner) and went to a stainless steel exhaust straight out the back on the left side .....To start we took a stainless steel sport pipe from a Honda sedan ( Vtec type) rear section only, cut the flange which when set to the truck ends up at about the left side rear shock we then bent some stainless pipe same size as stock welded it to the Honda set up and then used a factory Toy flange to mate up with the cat. Sounds good and was cheap to do... down side is whern running with the rear window down it gets a bit noxious in the truck ::)so I just run with it up ;D ;D

Ok I looked for it and I couldnt find it. Also I dont think that the idea of running it though the bed under the tail gate would be a bad idea. If you could copy the link and send it back to me. Thanks man

I don't think I like the idea of my exhaust manifold dealing with the force of impact from a brush gaurd. I think I'll stick to running it our the rear of the truck. ;D
