looking to get new tires for my yota. Its a daily driver but also goes in the woods almost every day. Lot of my buddies have the bf muds and they're awesome tires, was wondering which I should get on mine, the ltbs look aggresive and good tires. how do both compare on trails and in mud, which tire is better and wears less on the road but awesome in the woods?

The BFGs will probably wear better, but the LTBs will out wheel them in anything.

The BFG's will also have a better ride on the street. This being the reason I have two sets of tires. One for my daily driving, and one for wheeling. My BFG's usually last 2-3 years and my TSL's usually last 5-7years.

i would say go with the BFG's because it is a daily driver and they are decent offroad while the LTBs are better offroad the road surface will tear them up alot faster and they are probably bias ply witch is not good on the road at all thats my opinion

BFG's aren't bad off road, but you have to watch out for the sidewalls on them. They don't like shape rocks. I wasted a good two day old tire on one. $165 down the drain.

WEll my buddy just got a set of 33x13.50 LTBs and rode them for 3 weeks and then took them back. Those Ltbs were not good tires at all, they rode horrible on the road. He had them on a 89 pick up and they wobbled so bad, he took them to get balanced again and they couldnt do it. In the end they suck on the road, but get them if all you are doing is wheelin.

it's all about how much you're willing to sacrifice. i mean yeah the ltb's are gunna be kinda crappy on the road but how much wheeling do you do? can you justify the crappy ride for the gains offroad (i know i could). then again those bfg's aren't gunna be the best onroad tire either (they won't be that bad but they're still a m/t tire). what kind of wheeling do you do? the bfg's may last longer onroad but they are gunna get destroyed alot easier offroad. just some stuff to think about.

Some guys compare the ltb's to the boggers. They believe they are as good as the boggers in the mud and what not. For how cheap these ltb's are I believe they are definitely worth the money over the mud terrains. Better off road and better price leads me more to the ltb's than the mud terrains. Thats why I just ordered some last night.

LTB's are made to perform off road so don't expect them to perform well and wear well on the road.

LTB's hands down off road... However mine wore really fast... and had the bad wobble at 30 mph(however I rotated a tire front to back and it solved that). But to me it was all worth it for the performace off road. Have the 33x13.5's on 15x8 steelies, aired them down to about 8 psi and never had any problems. Would have tried lower but dont have OBA.... yet.

;D I'm not gonna argue the LTB. It has it's place & if it works for you, go for it. I WILL, however, argue that the BFG M/T should forever be banished to the shredder! Interco has tires that make it look like a drag slick. The 2 I can personally attest to, having seen them work, the SSR radial & the Truxus M/T. IMHO, they get the job done. Check 'em out. Later...

BF is soooo far behind in the tire market. Interco at least has new tread patterns and compositions available. The BF mud and at's have been the same tread pattern (with alternating compounds) for 20yrs! No "new" treads! Sorry, but the old adage, "don't change what works" has fallen out of place. Even Goodyear stepped up a little (very little) with the MT

They are no longer leading in the market, but they keep jacking their prices up like they think they have something special I would take a Swamper over a BFJ any day. For a DD, I would run a TOYO open country M/T.

Check out the Yokohama Geolander line. I have the A/Ts on my F150 and they do great on-road as well as off-road.
