Hello fellas. New site looks nice! I'm the pilot of a 2004 Taco Dcab TRD. I'm searching for 15" rims that fit. I've narrowed it down to either the AR Mojave Teflons (if i want black) or the AR DiamondBacks (if my wife wins out and wants blingy). I've read that the 15" Mojaves fit no problems on 00-04 tacos. Also reas the Diamond Locks fit no problem. The diamond Back is the same rim sans the sim bead. Just have to decide whick one i want and find a dealer to work with me.
My suspension is going to remain stock. I don't have the time to install a lift and don't want to stess the drivetrain......not to mention the wife is barely 5' and frowns everytime i mention a lift.......
Question is this. The rims are Backspaced at 3.75. Will this cause any problems with rubbing on the fenders with either of the sizes i mention in the title? I currently run 265/75 buckshots on stock wheels and I rub on the frame at full lock......want to get away from that.
I've also narrowed down the tires to SSRs or Cooper Discover STTs. I'm torn as to which size. I've been told that Most if no all Swampers measure a bit larger than they states size and most other manufactures measure a bit small.
Seeing that my current tires equals about a 32" tire, i don't see any problem with either 31x10.50. BUT i don't want a to small a tire. But i'm also going from a 7" rim to a 8" rim and reducing backspace.
Would the 32s fit with just the pinchweld mod? I dont foresee and from clearance issues because the backspacing of the rim. But I may run into valance/fender/mudflap issuse.
I've been the the manufactures sites. Iterco states that the SSRs measure just as they are marked (doesn't indicat what width rim just 7-9)...... The STTs measure 10.85 wide and 30.75 tall on a 8.5 rim for the 31x10.50. The 32x11.50 measures 11.4 wide and 31.76 tall on a 9" rim. I assume they would measure taller and narrower on the rims i'm looking at.
Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to make sure that you know i'm not just going in blind. I'm trying to do my homework, I just can't visualize them on my truck.
has anyone ran these sizes on a stock suspended truck?
Again sorry for the lenth of the post......flame me if you like..... i have selective comprehension anyway
thanks guys......
BTW I'm leaning towards the SSRs. I've loved them but couldn't swing them in the stock size..............I think the STTs may wear a bit better but have read that the SSRs have lasted upwards of 40k!! I'm mostly a pavement pounder........and when i'm offroad its in mud. I avoid rocks like the plague!!!!
thanks for any help!
