As most of us know that trying to get oversized tires to balance is a PITA. And we all have our little tricks to accomplish this. Well I came across this site awhile back from another forum. And I had forgotten about it. Well the subject came up this wknd. Then I remembered about it. Here's a link to the company that sells Balance beads www.innovativebalancing.com/index.htmland here's a little write-up about the use of golf balls. www.innovativebalancing.com/GolfBalls.pdf

Do BB's rust? If so that can't be good for the tire.

there shouldnt be much moisture in the tire. anyway aisoft bbs are plastic so they wont rust

Most air compressors produce some (to a lot) of moisture along with the air, but steel BB's are copper plated.

steel BBs copper plated or not will still rust somewhat, just leave a few of them out in the rain or in any moisture for a period of time and they will begin to rust, although i dont know what effects that can have on the tire itself.. i think id prefer the plastic BBs although im not sure if they would be dense enough for any noticeable improvement unless you use alot of them, (like 2,500 in each tire)

coming from a tire tech, i hate it when people come in with their MTR tires and expect their truck to ride like a Caddy, some people dont know that if you dont rotate your tires often enough that your tires will become very cupped and then just ride like junk for the rest of the life of the tire.

My BGF MT's balanced out perfect. The guy that balanced them said its the first set of mud tires he has done that have all balanced out perfect. 2 yrs later and a lot of abuse they still ride nice. I even used a old shitty set of black steelie rims I had.

I use tape weights cause my rims are too mashed up for lip weights

I've been using these for a few years now and they work very well.Another way and cheaper too is to use air soft pellets. My friend Brandon went this route a few months ago and it only cost him around $10 to do 5 wheels.
