i just bought a 98 tacoma sr5 v6 and i have just installed a 3 inch suspension lift.. as of now i have a 265/75/r16 on a 8 1/2 inch wheel.. they are too small.. i'm new to the taco family so i am asking for advice.. just how big can i go without rubbing?

i would go 33x12.5 you might rub a little but it will only be when you turn all the way

The rubbing sucks. I have an 85 so I dont have that problem with 33's but my friend has an 07 Tacoma with 33x12.50 and the rubbing is very annoying. He has a three inch lift. I would recommend either going with a smaller tire or getting a bigger lift unless the noise does not bother you.

How big can you go with a stock setup? I plan on adding a 2 or 3 inch lift later but that's in the future.

dont forget wheel spacers as a fix also...just be sure they are made of aircraft grade aluminum from a reputable place, make sure you tighten to 90ft/lbs and check every now and again...
